The International Quarter is a new building on the grounds of Dorotheenstraße 5 A, 5 B and 7 and will be occupied for the first time in winter semester 2019/2020.
There is a large event room on the ground floor offering the house community means for togetherness. Here, students of all Hanoverian universities can celebrate parties, spend film evenings, watch big sporting events or even learn together. A good meeting place for those who want to make friends during their studies.
There are 68 single apartments in the four upper floors, four of which are accessible for wheelchairs and another four barrier-free. All apartments are fully furnished.
The Internet is included in the rent.

For the International Quarter, a permit for subsidized housing "B-Schein" Housing Vouchers must be presented.

Please note: If you would like to apply for a place in a student house, please contact our department's Accommodation Administration, not the local student house management!

Please note that the open office hours in the student houses are currently cancelled due to the infection situation. You are welcome to clarify your concerns via phone or e-mail with your student house management. If this shouldn't work in such a way, get in touch with your student house management and arrange a personal appointment.

Residents' Council of the Student House (HSV)

The Residents' Council of the student house is elected from and by the group of the student residents. It keeps contact with the Studentenwerk, organises house assemblies and parties, manages the students' pub and sometimes arbitrates in case of dispute. The HSV council is run by volunteers. Suggestions and cooperation are always appreciated!
To find out the name of the HSV council members, consulting times and places of assembly please look for notices on the bulletin board in the student house or ask the student house management.

Tutor for International Students

As part of the Tutoring Programme for International Students in Studentenwerk Accommodation, the student house tutors offer regular consulting times. Some tutors attend to more than one student house—please pay attention to where the consulting times take place!

The Herrenhäuser Markt is just vis-á-vis. Here you will find supermarkets, fruit shops, groceries, a draper’s discounter, bakeries, bank, pharmacy etc. Furthermore there is a weekly market every Saturday.

Culture Round the Corner
Alongside the Stöckener Straße there are several pubs and cafés as well as the local Herrenhausen office of the Stadtbibliothek (= Municipal Library). Not only can you borrow books there but also attend to literary events, which take place regularly. The Herrenhäuser Gärten, one of Hanover’s greatest attractions, entices you with its nature, culture and a multitude of events. For further information please refer to hannover.de.

The location of the student accommodation offers ideal opportunities for going running or hiking. In summer, the public pools Leinhäuser Bad (Elbestraße 39) and the Volksbad Limmer (Stockhardtweg 6) are inviting for a swim. Directly at the student accommodation there are also several sports facilities (street ball, pétanque, table tennis, chess).
