Studying under Aggravating Circumstances
Studying with a child
Coordinating child care, household tasks and studies takes much strength and good planning. There are means of relief for students with child, though, especially care in day-nurseries and kindergartens etc. Detailed information can be found at our homepage in section "Social Advice" at the sub-point Studying with a Child.
If you want to take your child or your children to Germany with you, please refer to the according tips on our page Proof of Financial Resources.
In principal: After your arrival get in contact with other student parents as soon as possible! It is easier to overcome time shortages as a group.
Studying with a Handicap
Naturally, it is possible for people with disabilities or chronical diseases to take up a course of study in Hanover. There are barrier-free places in the dormitories of the Student Administration. Nevertheless, many daily routines still take more time and effort than for non-disabled people.
Special information for international students with a handicap is available at the internet portal "International Students" by the Deutsches Studentenwerk (DSW) at the page Students with disabilities.
Information for disabled students in Hanover (advice centres, Student Administration Accommodations) can be found at our homepage in section "Social Advice" at the sub-point Studying with a Handicap.
