You can get the social rate of the Telekom (telco) if you receive BAföG. You just have to present your BAföG-notice at the Telekom. The social rate does not enable you to save the telephone extension. Instead you are let telephone units amounting to 6,94 € per month. It is not important whether you have a digital or an analog extension – the credit is just the same. If you phone for less than 6,94 € per month or use another supplier, the credit is forfeited. It is not possible to transfer an unused credit to the next month. You can apply accordingly at the next Telekom-office ("T-Punkt") or in written form directly to the Telekom main office.
