This dormitory is located in the south of Hanover, directly in a green area. It is distinguished by its quiet position adjoining the recreation area "Ricklinger Kiesteiche". Last but not least this is why student families like to live here: apartments are reserved for 24 students with children and student couples. The vicinity to the University of Applied Sciences, the great transport connexion and a wide range of recreational possibilities render this dormitory as very attractive. All rooms have access to the Internet, the fee is already included in the rent.
This dormitory has different kinds of apartments, from single apartments to 3-room-apartments, some with shared kitchen/sanitary room. The prices differ according to the size of the rooms. All rooms are completely furnished.

Please note: If you want to apply for a place in a Dormitory, please contact our Department for Student Residential Affairs (Jägerstraße 3–5), not the local Dormitory Management!

Self-Administration (HSV) of the Dormitory
The self-administration of the dormitory is elected from and by the group of the student residents. It keeps contact with the Student Administration, organises dormitory assemblies and parties, manages the students pub and sometimes arbitrates in case of dispute. The HSV is working complimentary. Suggestions and cooperation are always appreciated!
To find out the name of the HSV-members, consulting times and places of assembly please refer to announcements in the dormitory, the homepage of the self-administration or ask the dormitory management.
Tutoring Programme in Dormitories
Within the framework of the Tutoring Programme for foreign students the student assistants offer consulting times. Some assistants attend to more than one dormitory – please pay attention to where the consulting times take place!
"Hello, my name is Xianwen Bao and I study mechanical engineering at the Leibniz University Hanover. Since November 2011 I am supporting foreign students at the dormitories as a tutor of the Student Administration Hanover. I speak German, Chinese and English.
I am offering evenings at the cinema and other events on a regular basis. Furthermore I am organising excursions to the city and region of Hanover. I have many ideas of common activities and I'm open to your suggestions, too.
Naturally I also look after your daily problems during my consulting times (at the office of the dormitory management) or by appointment.
I'm looking forward to meet you and to get something going together, so that your student days in Hanover become an unforgettable experience."

In direct vicinity of the dormitory there is a small and therefore a bit more expensive supermarket in the street "An der Bauerwiese". You will find cheaper means of shopping at the August-Holweg-Platz, where there is a weekly market on Thursdays as well.
Culture Round the Corner
Nearby the dormitory, at the Steckertraße, a pizzeria and a pub can be found. The club "Freizeitheim Ricklingen" offers concerts, theatre and other events and accommodates a bistro pub with a beer garden, the "Rick's". You will find many further details about the quarters Ricklingen and Oberricklingen at www.fidele-doerp.de.
Sports
The location of the dormitory offers ideal opportunities to go running or hiking. In summer, the lido "Ricklinger Freibad" (Kneippweg 25) and the lakes Ricklinger Kiesteiche tempt you to a swim as does the indoor swimming pool Stadionbad (Arthur-Menge-Ufer 5a), which additionally has a sauna, in winter.
