The Maternity Protection Act (MuSchG) is applicable to all women without regard to nationality and family status, who

• are working,
• who are still in training (e.g. trainees or apprentices),
• are doing home-work
• are marginally employed.

The regulations of maternity protection for expectant and breast-feeding women (dismissal protection, protection policy at the place of work, maternity period etc.) are illustrated within the Familien-Wegweiser (Family Guide) of the Federal Ministry for Family, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth.
