On the initiative of the student members within the committees of the student administration, part of the student administration fees are used for the specific purpose of the care for students’ children.

Student parents, who want to found a kid’s group, may receive support from the student administration: the student administration puts the students in contact with the Kinderladeninitiative e. V. (Children’s Nursery Initiative; Head Office of the self-assembled parent initiatives of Hanover) and offers help concerning the cooperation with the universities of Hanover and the student unions in regard to the acquisition of rooms.

Kid’s groups can apply for money to purchase furniture, playthings or little renovations etc., as long as no third party, e.g. the City of Hanover or the State of Lower Saxony, is going to absorb the costs. Newly founded groups can be supported by the student administration by one-off aids in regard to necessary building- and investment costs. Under certain conditions, aids to the operating costs may be granted. Furthermore, the student administration can help, if the kid’s group faces an unpredictable need.
