The "International Dormitory" with its 36 places for foreign students from university programmes is within a stone's throw of the university – and the main refectory is just vis-à-vis. The "Nordstadt", being the university quarter, offers a lively environment and is adjoining two public parks. In the dormitory, which was built in 1994, some rooms own a balcony. There is an arcade as well as an inner courtyard. When the weather is fine, social life is taking place at this attractive outside space. All rooms have access to the Internet, the fee is already included in the rent. If you want to rent a room in this popular dormitory, you have to anticipate a longer waiting period.
This dormitory offers single rooms in shared apartments of different size with common sanitary rooms/kitchens. Two rooms are barrier-free. The prices differ in regard to the size of the rooms. All rooms are completely furnished.

The Dormitory Management is your contact for all formalities, questions and problems in regard to living in the dormitory. Please note: If you want to apply for a place in a Dormitory, please contact our Department for Student Residential Affairs (Jägerstraße 3–5), not the local Dormitory Management!

Self-Administration of the Dormitory (HSV)
The self-administration of the dormitory is elected from and by the group of the student residents. It keeps contact with the Student Administration, organises dormitory assemblies and parties, manages the students pub and sometimes arbitrates in case of dispute. The HSV is working complimentary. Suggestions and cooperation are always appreciated!
To find out the name of the HSV-members, consulting times and places of assembly please refer to announcements in the dormitory or ask the dormitory management.
Tutoring Programme in Dormitories
Within the framework of the Tutoring Programme for foreign students the student assistants offer consulting times. Some assistants attend to more than one dormitory – please pay attention to where the consulting times take place!
"Hello, my name is Aselia Alieva and I study economics and business administration at the Leibniz University. Since May 2011 I am supporting you at the dormitory Callinstraße as a tutor of the Student Administration Hanover. I speak Kirghiz, Russian and German. I am offering cultural events like evenings at the opera or the cinema on a regular basis. Furthermore, I am organising excursions in and outside of Hanover. Naturally I'm open to your suggestions, too!
I also look after your daily problems during my consulting times (at the office of the dormitory management at the dormitory Callinstraße 25) or by appointment.

Culture Round the Corner
The cultural range of this student quarter is versatile: Directly at the Callinstraße and the Schneiderberg there are several pubs. The Internationalismus-Buchladen at the Engelbosteler Damm organises readings as well as the Literarische Salon at the University. The Kino im Sprengel (cinema) is located in this quarter, too, and offers an interesting programme. For further information refer to hannover.de.
Sports
The closely situated parks offer ideal opportunities to go for a run and at the Georgengarten you can meet Pétanque players 24 hours a day all over the year. The Zentrum für Hochschulsport (Centre for University Sports Hanover) can be reached within 10 minutes and offers a considerable range of sports courses.
Medical Practitioners
At the Engelbosteler Damm and the adjoining streets you can find many physicians. With the Hannover Map or the Google Map below you can find doctors near to the dormitory. On weekends and in case of emergency: the Klinikum Nordstadt (hospital) at the Haltenhoffstraße 41 is an 8 minutes' walk away.
