International students can get governmental student loans – so called BAföG and Bildungskredit (Education Credit) – only in exceptional cases.

General information about conditions that international students have to fulfil in order to get BAföG and Bildungskredit can be found at the internet portal "International Students" by the Deutsches Studentenwerk (DSW) at the page Government funding.
